Where are you from? Israel What rating did you recently earn? I got my instrument rating in April. What was the hardest and/or most memorable part of your training? Getting the instrument rating was the hardest so far. The foggles gave me a headache! I understand you served in the Israeli Army. Yes, I was soldier. I'm glad it's over, but I do miss certain moments like when we put a bucket full of little frogs in the new recruits' room. Why did you choose Century Air for your training? I found Century Air online, and after checking out several [...]

Where are you from? Pequannock, New Jersey. What rating did you earn?  When? I earned my Private Pilot certificate last month. What was the hardest and/or most memorable part of your training? The first solo was definitely the most memorable part of my training. I'd been looking forward to that moment since I was a young kid. How did you come to choose Century Air? I found the Century Air website while I was stationed in Japan (while serving in the US Marine Corps as a Satellite Communications Technician) and discovered that the GI Bill would help to pay for [...]

Where are you from? I’m from New York City. What rating did you earn?  When? I earned my initial CFI rating in September of this year. What was the hardest and/or most memorable part of your training? The checkride was the most difficult part.  The 5 1/2 hour oral exam was also very difficult, but I found it to be very rewarding to see how far I've come. How did you come to choose Century Air? I've been flying for over 20 years and have experienced many different flight schools.  I knew for the CFI rating, I wanted a school [...]

Where are you originally from? Medellin, Colombia. What rating did you earn?  When? I got my Private Pilot Certificate in June of this year. What was the hardest and/or most memorable part of your training? The hardest part for me was learning to land the airplane.  The most memorable experience was my first solo landing.  After landing, I said to my instructor, "That was a pretty nice landing, right?", then I looked over to the right seat and realized he wasn't there! How did you come to choose Century Air? My father chose Century Air for me.  He was an [...]

Private Pilot Certificate in less than two months!

Anna Varvarkina arrived from Russia on July 4th in hopes of obtaining her private pilot certificate in only 7 weeks. While that was a very challenging goal in itself, she also needed to find a place to live, and a form of transportation on very limited funds. Anna quickly found a room for rent (7 miles from Caldwell Airport) and borrowed a bicycle to peddle her way to school every day. She worked extremely hard to achieve her goal, and passed her private pilot checkride on August 27th - the day before Hurricane Irene completely flooded New Jersey and shut [...]
